Robert Kenneth Shoup, 92, of Limerick, PA passed away peacefully Friday, April 17, with family by his side. Born February 12, 1923 in Catawissa, PA to the late Beata Shoup Hendricks and Michael Baran, he was preceded in death by Jane Shoup, his wife of 66 years. Bob was a man of strong Christian Faith and longtime member of the Trinity E. C. Lighthouse Church. He was devoted to his family, hardworking and a man of integrity. Bob was a World War II Army Soldier with the Blackhawks 86th Division and served in the Philippines, France, Austria, Bavaria and Germany where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Surviving Bob are daughters Lois wife of Robert Wambold of Pottstown, Brenda wife of David Shumate of Gilbertsville, Karen wife of James Faber of North Wales and son, Robert and wife Denise of Pottstown. Bob was blessed with nine grandchildren: Rob Wambold, Michelle Cassel, Jayson Weeks, Jeremy Weeks, Jared Weeks, Emily Faber, Russell Faber, R. Kevin Shoup and Alexandra Bushey; nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren and one step great grandson. Also surviving are sisters Maxine Hornberger of Catawissa, Marjorie Crawford of Bloomsburg, Elizabeth Mahaffey of Florida and brothers Leon Hendricks of Raritan, New Jersey and Leonard Baran of Ohio and many nephews and nieces. A sister Rose Lorraine Kundrick and a brother Donald Hendricks preceded Bob in death. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing and greet the family on Thursday, April 23 from 6:30p.m. - 8:30pm at the Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, Bridge and Church Streets Spring City PA. (135 Bridge St.) And family will greet friends Friday at the funeral home from 10am with a funeral service at 11am. The Rev. Ralph W. Owens will officiate.
