Mary E. "Betty" Thum, age 87, wife of the late Charles J. Thum, Jr., of Spring City, died on Tuesday evening in the Manatawyny Manor. Betty was born in Royersford a dughter to the late Carroll and Charlotte (Spear) Massenburg. Betty resided most of her life in Spring City a graduate of the former Spring City High School, she was employed as a Library Aid for the Spring Ford Hig School for many years. She was also a member of the St. Joseph Church in Spring City. Betty is survived by two sons: Timothy "Tim" Thum husband of Diane of Royersford, and Kevin Thum husband of Paula of Spring City. Also survived by Five grandchilden: Ryan husband of Megan Thum, Karin wife of John Fitzgerald, Christipher, Patrick and Jillian wife of Joseph Alati. And Four great grandchildren. Betty is preceeded in death by a son: Todd Thum and Sistser: Doris Holmquist, and Brother: Jack Clarke Relatives and frinds are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Saturday at 1pm at the St. Joseph Church 3640 Schuylkill Road Spring Cit PA, 19475. The Rev. Charles O'Hara will officiate, Burial to follow in teh Fernwoos Cemetery Royersford. Visitation will be held saturday in church from 12pm to 1pm.
