Wilbur Harold (Hal) Berry, age 72, of Spring City, PA passed away on April 9, 2016 in Phoenixville Hospital. A viewing will be held at Shalkop, Grace & Strunk Funeral Home on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 9:00 – 10:45 AM. There will be a funeral service at 10:45 AM, Rev. Jacqueline Hines officiating. Burial will follow at noon at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 S. Gulph Rd., King of Prussia, PA. Hal was born in Philadelphia, PA to Wilbur R. and Marguerite H. Berry on May 20, 1943. He graduated in 1961 from Conestoga High School, worked for Burroughs Corporation (now Lockheed Martin) and was a Security Guard at XL Corporation until 2011. He enjoyed gardening and took part in canning the fruits of his labors. He served as Cub Master of Pack 4 Scouts in Spring City from 1981 to 1986. Hal is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helen L. Young of Ocean City, NJ; three sons: James, Charles and David; a sister, P. Jean Woodring, and a brother, Kenneth; grandchildren: Brittany, Katrina, Jessica, Zachary, Christopher, Simon, Travis, James and Arianna; three great-grandchildren: Zoe, Kaylin and Levi; and one niece, Jen Mann.
