Arthur “Ozzie” M. Parker, beloved husband of Kathleen “Kathy” (Bateman) Parker, died Tuesday at home with family and friends by his side. Art was born in Philadelphia to the late Arthur and the late Elizabeth (Watterson) Parker. Art was a graduate of Norristown Area High School and the Computer Education Institute of Philadelphia. After serving four years in the United States Air Force as a police officer and sharpshooter, he worked as a software engineer for TV Guide for more than 36 years retiring in 2005. A 40-year member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Art served four terms on church council, volunteered on the maintenance and facilities crews, served as an usher, and was involved in Bible study. His various memberships included Mt. Pickering Mason Lodge 446 where he served as a leader of DeMolay, Rajah Shriners of Reading, Trappe VFW Post 7155, Spring City American Legion Post 602, Italian-American Club of Wayne, and Spring City Liberty Fire Company, where he was a member of the Monday night golf league. Art was an avid Penn State football fan and very much enjoyed fishing, playing golf, playing cards and, most of all, spending quality time with his family. In addition to his wife of more than 45 years, Art is survived by his son, David M., husband of Katie M. (Poliafico) Parker, Phoenixville, and his daughter, Sandra P., wife of Jason Ulikowski, Collegeville, his brother, Andrew Parker, Cape Coral, FL, two sisters, Elizabeth Dietrich, Greene, NY, and Margaret Brownlie, Eagleville, PA, three grandchildren, Benjamin, Abigail, and Emilia Parker, and several nieces and nephews. Neff officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be private.
