Elizabeth L. Sciallo, 98, Chester Springs
Elizabeth L. (Calcinore) Sciallo, 98, widow of Nicholas "Snakes" Sciallo, formally of Phoenixville, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at home.
She was born in Royersford to the late James and the late Elvera (Golie) Calcinore. One of 10 children, Elizabeth loved family. After the loss of her husband, she came to live with her daughter in Chester Springs for over 30 years.
Affectionately known as Betty, hard work was not something that she minded. She greatly enjoyed cooking and keeping a clean home. Betty not only worked in the home, but as a seamstress for Findeisen and Pickering. She loved gardening, crocheting and spending time with her precious granddaughters.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Angela M. wife of James "Jim" McClintock of Chester Springs, her sister, Anne Madera and three granddaughters: Stephanie, Nichole ("Nickie") and Marlena McClintock of Phoenixville, many nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceeded in death by her sisters: Mary Jurata, Amelia Sciallo, brothers: Robert Calcinore, Albert Calcinore, Ernest ("Ernie") Calcinore, James ("Jim") Calcinore, John Calcinore and Lewis Calcinore.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in St. Mary Of The Assumption, 212 Dayton Street, Phoenixville. With Rev. Father John Hutter officiating. Friends are invited to come to a visitation prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:45 at the church. Burial will be immediately following in St Ann's Cemetery in Phoenixville.
