David G Finkbiner, 78, Royersford
David G Finkbiner, 78, beloved husband of Betty (Stroop) Finkbiner, died peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Wednesday in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
David was born in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ to the late Charles S.C. and the late Mary (Latschar) Finkbiner.
David resided most of his life in Spring City and the Royersford area, he was a 1955 graduate of the former Spring City High School, he then attended Lock Haven University and graduated with a degree in Science and Math;
David was employed for 32 years as a Teacher at the Spring Ford High School, where he
coached both football and wrestling teams. He retired in 1994.
While teaching at Spring Ford he started the Arboretum, he enjoyed Botany and was an avid landscaper and gardener. David also found time with carpentry as he built his home.
He always had a passion for his pet dogs.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter: Joyce Finkbiner of West Pottsgrove also survived by Sisters: M. Joyce Willever of Lititz, PA and Barbara Taschner of Mohnton, PA. And a brother: Charles E. Finkbiner of Newfoundland, PA
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Monday at 11am at the Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, Bridge and Church Streets Spring City with the Rev. Erick Kern officiating, Burial will be private. Visitation will be held Monday morning in the funeral home from 10-11am.
