Floyd Samuel Miller, 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Spring City, PA May 25, 2017. Born in Westover, Maryland, he was the son of the late Lester and Claire (Yoder) Miller and a husband of 63 years to Eunice (nee Good).
Floyd came to Spring City to work for his future father-in-law, eventually purchasing the family dairy farm and operating with his sons as Ridge Star Farm. He was a member of Vincent Mennonite Church where he formerly served as a trustee and treasurer. Eunice and he spent the last ten winters in Sarasota, Florida where he enjoyed bocce ball and shuffleboard. He was a wonderful PopPop and loved playing cards and board games with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice, children Gretchen McTavish and husband Robert of Pottstown, Peter Miller and wife LuAnn of Spring City, Michael Miller and wife Kimberly of Hazelton, Rachel Young and husband Richard of East Greenville, James Miller and wife Darlene of Spring City; grandchildren John (Tatsyana) and Kate McTavish, Clinton (Brooke), Anthony (Renee), Eric, Elizabeth, Thomas (Adrienne), Reuben, Emma, Alexis, Carley and Brandon Miller, Sarah Selvarayan (Arul), Grace Acevedo (Raul), Breanna Flora (Evan), Rosanna and Olivia Young and 8 great- grandchildren; sisters Marion, Joyce Tieszen (Edwin), Alice Bontrager (Dennis) all of Sarasota, FL., Lois Christman, Nashville, NC; brothers Daniel, Ellicott City, MD, Omar (Loretta) Franconia, PA, Albert, Princess Anne, MD, Richard (Mary Ellen), Westover, MD. Floyd is predeceased by brothers Leonard and Clifford, and sister Sylvia Hostetter.
Services will be Monday, May 29, 11:00 am., Vincent Mennonite Church, 39 Seven Stars Road, Spring City, PA 19475. Visitation will precede the service from 9:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be private in the Vincent Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements by Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home. On line tributes may be made at www.sgsfuneralhome.com
