Idea E. Carpenter, 95, St Peters

Idea E. (Isabella) Carpenter, 95, widow of the late Willard N. Carpenter, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at home.

She was born in Calabria, Italy to the late Domenico and the late Josephine (Ceneviva) Isabella.  Idea resided most of her life in the Trooper area.  A devoted catholic, Idea was a member of St. Thomas More and former member of St. Eleanor’s and Visitation BVM where she volunteered and was very active in the rectory and was a member of the Legion of Mary.

Idea was employed at the former Collegeville Inn working as a supervisor.  She truly enjoyed spending time with family, reading, flower gardening and enjoying old movies.

Idea leaves behind four adoring children, Daughter:  Josephine R. (David) Roach of Sellersville and Sons:  Willard N. Carpenter (Michele), Gilbertsville, Dominick W. Carpenter (Terri) St. Peters, Robert A. Carpenter (Chrissy), Worcester and one step son: William Carpenter  of Auburn, California.  Nine Grandchildren and seven Great grandchildren. 

Her siblings preceeded her in death:  Fausto, Francesco, Caterina Isabella and step sister Rosella Trunzo and a granddaughter, Sherri Lynn Carpenter in 1976.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, July 1 in St. Thomas More, Rt 100 & Cadmus Road, Pottstown, with the Rev. Edward Brady officiating. Mass cards are being accepted. 

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 am Saturday St. Thomas More, Rt 100 & Cadmus Road, Pottstown, PA.  Burial will be immediately following in Green Tree Cemetery in Oaks.
