Obituary of Nancy Kurtas
Nancy Hoffman-Kurtas 84 of Sanatoga
Nancy Hoffman Kurtas passed away peacfully at home with family, Thursday, April the 12th 2018. She was born December the 11th 1933 to Spike and Dorothy Meredith in Tyrone ,PA.
In her early years she moved to New York City and worked at Saks Department Store.
She came to Pottstown to help her sister, where she would meet and marry the late Robert W. Hoffman.
They had four children together :Elizabeth (Siegel),William, Bruce and
Lisa (Rosetti) and 2 grandchildren Jennifer (Mc Daniel) and Nicholas. She
remarried in 1993 to the late John Kurtas yet continued an amicable relation with Mr Hoffman.
Nancy worked at Pennhurst Center from 1970 until the closure in 1987. She went on
to work in home health care and was highly recommended.
Nancy loved people and made friends easily. She loved children and was integral in
the lives of her grandchildren. Though never one to mince words she would be your
best advocate in times of need.
She enjoyed books by Mary Higgins Clark, old Bette Davis movies and listening to
soft music in the evening hours. She adored animals and had a prized gold fish
and several dogs in times past.
Nancy loved to be on the go, whether a trip to the beach or socializing at the mall.
She will be deeply missed by all who love her.
Nancy is preceded in death by parents Spike and Dorothy Meredith, brothers Bob, Lee and
Marshall: sisters, Diane, Janice (Edwards),Gwen (Glutz) and Shirley(Sheckler) and
Nephew John Meredith She is survived by brothers Jack and Ted.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday at 11am at the Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home, Bridge and Church Streets, Spring City PA. The Rev. Jack A. Mason will officiate, Burial will be private. Her viewing will be held Friday in the funeral home from 9:30-11am.
