Tami McMillan, 59, Pottstown Tami McMillan, 59, wife of Joel McMillan died Saturday, June 30, at home. She was born in Pottstown to the late John Robert and the late Iona Jean (Roberts) Hiland, and graduated in 1977 from the Northern Chester County Technical School in Cosmetology. A life long resident of the Owen J. Roberts, East Coventry area, she worked as a hairdresser, caregiver, home maker, and loved scouting, being a 12 year den leader for The Cub Scouts Pack 157., and raising 2 Eagle Scouts, in addition to helping many to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. She played a huge role in the Parkerford community. She was a member of The Bethel United Methodist Church, Parkerford Women's Club, Ridge Fire Company Ladies Auxilary, and helped at her sons' elementary school. In addition to her husband of 40 years, Tami is survived by her two children, Jim McMillan (Kristen) of East Coventry, and Ken McMillan (Crystal) of East Coventry; a sister, Coleen Schaeffer of East Coventry, and two brothers, Tom Hiland of Pottstown, and Tim Hiland of Tioga County; five grandchildren, Eric, Jacob, Lucas, Skylar, and William; and two step grandchildren, Brandy and Dustin. Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral service on July 7 at The Bethel United Methodist Church, Bethel Church Road, Pottstown, PA 19465 with The Rev. Jacqueline Hines officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to The Ridge Fire Company, 480 Ridge Road, Spring City, PA 19475 Online tributes can be made at www.sgsfuneralhome.com Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral home, Spring City is in charge of all arrangements.
