Esther Carl, 95, Douglassville Esther (Devlin) Carl, 95, widow of Morris Carl, died Wednesday, October 17, in Keystone Villas, Douglasville. She was born in Phoenixville to the late Francis and the late Bertha (Maxton) Devlin. Esther was raised in Spring City, and was a graduate of Spring City High School. A member of St. Joseph Church, she retired after many years from the former Pennhurst State School and Hospital as a switchboard operator. She devoted herself to her family, and was a valuable volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and The Republican Party. Esther is survived by her son, Michael Carl (Carol) of Kenilworth, grand daughter Tami Gulotta of Douglassville, brother Frank Devlin, and sister in law, Polly Molzen of Douglassville. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Carl. Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral mass on Tuesday, October 23, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 3640 Schuylkill Road, Spring City, 19475, with The Rev. Charles O'Hara officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 AM.
