Obituary of James Calcinore

James "Jim" Calcinore, age 89, husband of Mary H. (Zigman) Calcinore of Phoenixville, PA, died on Saturday July 3, 2010.
He was born and raised in Royersford a son of the late Remegio and Elvera (Golie) Calcinore. Jim lived most of his life in Royersford and attended the former Royersford Schools.
He was one of six brothers to serve in the United States Army serving in the Second World War in the European Theatre. He came home from the war and started his career as a plumber working for Marion Latshaw as an apprentice and then later employed as a Master Plumber for the former Diamond Glass Co. of Royersford for twenty eight years until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of the Sacred Heart R. C. Church in Royersford. Also the first and lifelong member of the Italian American Bocce Club of Royersford. He also was a member of the Pottstown Elks Club, and enjoyed spending his time with gardening and traveling was an avid golfer and ultimately just found great pleasure being with his family.
He is survived by daughters: Patricia C. wife of Jerome P. Toner Sr. of Newark, DE and Pamela C. wife of Robert Heist of Royersford and 3 grandchildren: Jerome P. Jr. and Lauren and Joseph.
Also survived by sisters: Elizabeth Sciallo of Chester Springs, and Ann Madera of Phoenixville and brothers: Louis Calcinore of Royersford and John Calcinore of Royersford. Preceded in death by sisters: Mary Jurata, Amelia Sciallo, and brothers: Bobby Evans, Albert Calcinore and Ernest Calcinore.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday from 9-10:30am at the Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home Bridge and Church Streets, Spring City. His funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11am at the Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Walnut Street and Lewis Road, Royersford. Entombment will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories, with Military Honors. The family has requested Memorial gifts may be made in his memory to the Visiting Angels 2792 Egypt.
