Obituary of Abram D Mack

Abram D. Mack, 83, husband of the late Lois (Sheeler) Mack, died Tuesday Sept. 14, 2010 at his home in Royersford.
Born in Collegeville, he was the son of the late Jesse M. and Sarah R. (Detweiler) Mack.
Mr. Mack lived most of his life in Upper Providence. He was an active member of Vincent Mennonite Church where he participated as a song leader and choir member. His love of music lead him to participate in a number of singing groups.
"Abe" lived most of his life as a farmer of which 25 years were with Walebe Farms. After his farming years he enjoyed truck driving, working for several contractors. His great love for the land and the outdoors encouraged a huge garden every summer, of which he shared the fruits of his labor. He loved family gatherings and visiting family and friends.
Abram is survived by six children: Donna wife of Jim Shenk of Akron, Glenda wife of Mark Childs of Harleysville, Daryl Mack of Akron, A. Laverne Mack husband of Pamela of Alberta, Canada, Sylvia wife of Richard Shive Jr. of Lansdale, and Marsha wife of Steve Freed, of Royersford; Seven Grandchildren, Charity Shenk and husband Steve, Justin Shenk an wife Valerie, Richard Shive III, Tiffany Shive, Rachel Childs, Byron Childs, and Angelika Mack; two great grandchildren: Gavin and Theodore; two brothers: John H. Mack and wife Edith, Joseph P. Mack and wife Barbara.
Also surviving are sisters-in-law Miriam, Thelma, and Patricia Mack.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Norman, Jesse, and Daniel and 2 sisters: Naomi and Mary.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service ion Saturday September 18, 2010 at 11am at the Vincent Mennonite Church 39 Seven Stars Road Spring city with the Reverend Timothy Moyer officiating. Burial to follow in the Vincent Mennonite Cemetery. His viewing will be held on Friday evening at the church from 6:30-8:00pm sand on Saturday morning at church from 9:30-10:45am.
