Obituary of Robert A. Yerk

Yerk, Robert A. (Bob) 64 of Spring City, passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 at his home following an extended illness. Bob was born and raised in Royersford, the son of the late Paul I. and Jeanne F. Yerk. He was a 1964 graduate of Spring-Ford High School where he was a standout athlete in both football and basketball. He attended West Chester State University following high school, and later served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 17 years. Upon returning from overseas, he settled briefly in Royersford before moving his family to their present home in Spring City. Bob was a resources technician and later an auditor with TruGreen Chemlawn, located in Malvern, Pa. Bob will be sadly missed by his wife, Shu Chu, his sons Michael and Jason (wife Pam) and Bob's three grandchildren through Jason and Pam - David, Henry, and Felix. He is also survived by two brothers: David, residing in Royersford, and Paul (Sally) living in Cape May, New Jersey; along with loving aunts, Fonnie James, and Sally Weber, both of Royersford. Bob was a well regarded Uncle to many nieces and nephews and with six nearby cousins. A private graveside memorial will be held at Fernwood Cemetary in Royersford at 11:30 am on Thursday, March 3. Arrangements are entrusted to Shalkop - Grace - Strunk Funeral Home in Spring City.
