Jean (Frederick) Wherely, age 82 wife of the late Joseph Wherley of Spring City and Royersford, died on Saturday February 26, 2011 in the Manatawny Manor East Coventry Township. She was born in Pottstown a daugter of the late Ralph C. and Helen (Bertolet) Frederick. Mrs. Wherley resided most of herlife in Spring City, She was a 1946 graduate of the former Spring City High School and a graduate of Ursinus Colleg with a degree in education; She was an English teacher for the Spring Ford School District for over thirty years until her retirement. While teaching eleventh grade english she also coached the cheerleaders, organized and directed Baccolareate, and Class Plays. Mrs. Wherley was the first of the Alumni to be honored at Graduation by the Spring Ford Alumni Association. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ where she was a past memebro teh Alpha Tau Sunday school Class, Deacon,Elder and formner President o Consistory and active with the Adfulkt Fellowship. A membero fthe Order of the Eastern Star, Past President of the Women's Club and former Board membero fthe Spring City Library. Mrs. Whelrey was an avid golfer and membero fthe Spring Ford County Club, and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by a brother: Ralph C. Frederick husband of Betty Jane of Orefield PA and two nephews and one niece and six grand nephews. She is preceded in death by a step son. Relatives and friends are invited ot attebd her funeral service on Friday at 11am, at teh First United Church of Christ 145 Chestnuit Street Spring City PA 19475, The Reverend Erick Kern will officiate. Burial to follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Spring City. Her veiwing will be held friday morning in church from 9amto11am.
