I always considered Mary Jane, my Spiritual Mother. for many years, I took her wherever she needed to go. I always called her Mom. Because my late Mom's birthday is Aug 3rd, same as Mary Jane's. In 1st Timothy 5:2,we are instructed to treat older women as Mothers. She fasted many times over the years. Even though harming her health. But she had very good reasons as times, in doing so. To me, she was a TRUE JOY, to know and fellowship with. Every holiday, Mother's day, birthday etc. I tried to have lunch or dinner with her. To me also, was a walking Bible. She could cite chapter and verse. As her eyesight failed, she had to plant her face right on the Bible. It frustrated her not being able to see as she did before. for a few times she wanted to be free, of her situation. I usually told her, as all of us, it's in God's timing. When my wife died in 2019, I had a friend tell her. I didn't want to break down in front of her. And she ALWAYS gave the best hugs! I miss her as much as My late Mom, and my late wife. I told a friend, when she gets to Heaven, because of her fasting, I believe there will be a sign, at the "Banquet table". Eat all you want, whenever you want. But no fasting allowed.
