Obituary of Richard Bernard Fahey
A remarkable man, who could tell some amazing stories. Born November 26, 1935 in Manhattan, NY, to the late Burney and the late Delia (Quirk) Fahey. Richard loved his country and was a warrior at heart. A dedicated Marine, he served 1954-1956 in the Korean War and from 1962-1969, boots on the ground in Vietnam. Richard received the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupation service medal. Bronze Star V with Valor.
Richard was full of spirit. He never married, but cared for others as a CNA for 22 years. He enjoyed running especially marathons. When he could not run himself, he still enjoyed watching them. A member of the SE Veterans Home Community since 2015, they will miss his wit and strong spirit. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Peggy and Brother Peter.
Military Honors was present for his interment at the Washington Crossing on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.
