Jon C. Boettger, age 78, beloved husband of Sandra (Halteman) Boettger of Limerick, P A fomrerly of Royersford PA died on Friday at the Thomas Jefferson Universit Hospital in Philadelphia. Jon was born in Pottstown a son to the late Carl Henry and Dorothy (Burns) Boettger. Jon was raised in Royersford where he resided most of his life, he was a 1957 graduate of Spring Ford Hig School where he was an outstanding athlete playing football, basketball and baseball. He also sang in the District Chourus. Jon attended West Chester University and served in the United States Army. Jon was employed for PECO as a Gas Utilization Mechanic for several yeasr until his retirement. He was an very active member of the fomrer Spring Cit United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee, sang in the Choir, abd Taught Sunday School. Jon also volunteered for many years at the former Humane Fire Company as a firefighther and served a s past company and crew officer. He was a member of the Spring Ford Masonic Lodge #553. Jon enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and reading. He recently was attending Trinity Lighthouse Church inLimerick and enjoyed going to the Mens Prayer meetings. In addition to his wife of 57 years he is survived by daughters: Diane E. wife of Robert Pannella of Phoenixville and Amy L. wife of Lars White of Manheim PA and 3 grandchildren: Devan, Derek and Nathan. And a sister: Susan Knaggs of VA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial servcie on wednesday at 11am at teh Trinity Lighthouse Church 66 imerick Road Limerick PA 19468 with The Rev. Wayne Houck officiating. Burial will be private in the ZionLutheran Cemeetry. Visitation will held wednesday mornign at the church from 9:30-11am. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made in his memory to the Trinity Lighthouse Church 66 Limerick Road Limerick PA 19468 or the Spring Ford Masonic Lodge #553 On line tributes may be made at www.sgsfuneralhome.com The Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home is handling arrangements
