Obituary of Benjamin Fryer Littlefield

Benjamin Fryer Littlefield, age 85 of Spring City, PA died on Wednesday morning in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, Born January 23,1926 he was the son of the late Howard "Pat" and Mildred Hane Littlefield.
Fryer resided in Spring City all of his life he was a graduate of the former Spring City High School class of 1944.
He served in the Army with the 25th Infantry Division during World War II in the South Pacific.
Fryer was employed for thirty three years at the former Farmers and Mechanics National Bank in Phoenixville until his retirement. He was a graduate of the American Institute of Banking.
Fryer was an active member of the First United Church of Christ in Spring City where he served an a deacon, and elder, on the flower committee, and treasure of the building fund. He served as treasurer of the Spring City Food Pantry and volunteered with meals on wheels, and at Valley Forge National Park. He was a member the Spring City Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #553 for over fifty years, Tall Cedars of Lebabmon Forrest #34, Reading Consistory, Rajah Shrine and Brandywine Shrine Club, and also the past Commander of the Thomas W. O'Connor Post 602 American Legion in Spring City, and over sixty years treasurer of the Home Association.
He is preceded in death by a brother: George Littlefield and sisters: Grace and Mary Littlefield he is survived by Cousins.
Relatives and friend are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday at 11:00am at the Shalkop Grace & Strunk Funeral Home. Bridge and Church Streets Spring City, PA. The Rev. Erick kern officiating.
Burial to follow in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Spring City
His viewing will be held Saturday morning in the funeral home from9:30-11:00am and a Masonic Service at 10:45am. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made in his memory to the First United Church of Christ 145 Chestnut Street Spring City PA 19475. On line tributes may be made at sgsfuneralhome.com.
